Senior Enterprise Application Developer (Java)

Role details:

Title: Senior Enterprise Application Developer
Reporting to: Head of Operations
Location: Sheffield but relocating to Leeds

Salary: Up to £40,000, dependent on experience
Benefits: 25 days holiday per annum

Entitlement to participate in company bonus scheme, salary sacrifice share scheme and salary sacrifice pension scheme

Role type: Permanent full time (right to work in UK required)
Start: Immediate

Main role: To develop and maintain a series of IT based products in the transportation and mobile markets

Functional skills:

Required:

Working experience with the following areas is required:
- Java (4+ years) including JEE
- .Net/C# (1+ year)
- Enterprise architecture and development
- Software design
- Design patterns
- Test driven development
- External client facing projects
- Product and client support

Working experience in most of the following technologies is required:
- JBoss
- ESBs
- Hibernate
- Tapestry
- Spring
- Struts
- Maven
- Ant
- MySql

Advantageous:

Working experience with the following areas is advantageous:
- Behaviour driven development
- Agile development
- Extreme programming
- Linux/UNIX
- UML
- Jasper Reports/Business Intelligence
- Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
- Complex Event Processing (CEP)
- Team leadership

- Transportation or mobile markets

- Personal skills:

You will be a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in the development of applications based on the latest Internet technologies. Working as a member of a tightly knit team you will be comfortable in taking responsibility for the design and delivery of discreet system components and in some cases complete projects. You will need the confidence and ability to actively participate in technical architecture and strategy discussions. You will be confident attending internal and customer meetings via conference or in person.
